I’m taking a break from blogging.  Most of you know that I started my blog as a way of entertaining myself and keeping busy after a traumatic period in my life. It’s been almost a year since I started it and wow has blogging become an addiction! I really fell in love with it and the blogs of others in my blogging circle.  I find myself thinking about you all often and so many times I have laughed at your comments even when I’m not on the computer.

I am so fortunate to have met so many talented bloggers. Many of whom have gone on to become my friends.  Even so, it’s very important to maintain a balance in one’s life. For me at the moment, it’s about spending more time with Rip and finishing up some things i started around the house. The truth is, I have no idea exactly when I will return. ~but I will be back. Until then I will continue to visit my favorite blogs and reply to any comments left on my blog when I can.

Hey Trippin’ Rip! Does this video bring back memories of your mispent youth?

This is the place Rip spent a majority of time before he and I met. It’s Garden of the Gods in Colorado Springs, Colorado. On any given day you could find Rip hanging from a repelling rope or free climbing these rocks. It’s amazing to think that he was most probably trippin’ balls (his term not mine) while he showed off for, and entertained the tourists below. Usually with no safety gear. (yes, he is that crazy)  It’s incredible that he lived to see life after 30! Good thing he met me, his days were no doubt numbered until then.

If you’ve ever wanted to add fun keyboard characters to comments or chat but didn’t know how, this post is for you.  Let’s show our Madhatter’s friend, Duncan, that he’s not the only one who can show off! Unless you are  already a smarty pants, you could learn something about your keyboard that you didn’t know- like, Why do some keys have a tiny colored number on them?  Notebook users pay attention, you need to know this!

These Alt codes work on computers running any Microsoft Windows operating system. To get started you must make sure that “Number Lock” is switched on. You’ll see a light on your keyboard letting you know. …Then just follow the directions below.

 More symbols: ♦ alt 4, ♣ alt 5, ♠ alt 6, ☼ alt 15

Desktop: Hold down the “Alt” key to the left of the space bar and key the code on the numeric keypad. (small keypad to the right) Don’t release the “Alt” key until after you’ve typed the code. When you release it you should see the special character you’ve chosen.

Notebook: Enter alt codes using the method above but to enter the actual numeric alt code use the keys with numbers in the same color as the function (fn) key. Normally “U” has 4 on it for example. These keys replace your numeric keypad.

It’s not really a trick, just some  code to mess with your cats. (My cat likes it)  Copy the following javacode and paste into your browser then watch what happens. Try all three.

That campaign resulted in a 200 percent increase in market share.

Man, Trippin’ Rip frustrates the hell out of me at times! I asked him to watch this video and he was sighing after the first 20 seconds! I actually thought that since I loved it so much that he would too.

For me, it was hard to imagine why he didn’t love it. It has everything: hi-def quality, great music, the spirit of the season. (and I’m a hard sell, especially here at Christmastime) It was easy for me to get lost in the fantasy of this flick. Maybe you’ll enjoy it, maybe not.

Okay Tripsters, here’s  a simple and cool little DIY project. Find an empty wine bottle, (you may or may not want to remove the label)  a 50 bulb strand of Christmas lights, a drill with a glass drill bit, and some masking tape.  Just drill a hole near the bottom of the bottle, then feed the strand through the hole. Plug in and enjoy! I’m going to try this later in the week using a glass fish bowl.
